Our livestock and poultry bedding offers high absorbency, great comfort and increased cleanliness. Our products are suitable for pigs, cattle and poultry, and are suitable alternatives to traditional wood shavings. Our Cosychip and Cosychip Plus bales are manufactured from recycled wooden pallets and provide a comfortable, spongy surface to give your animals the rest they need. Cosychip Plus is double dust extracted during production so it provides ultra-low dust environment for your animals.
However, Cosychip is an excellent value alternative to completely dust-extracted bales. Cosychip still undergo a screening process providing a clean and healthy environment for your animals at an extra affordable price.
Cosychip and Cosychip Plus are a manageable size for poultry sheds and are ideal for handling in the sheds, whilst also doubling up as enrichment bales. Our enrichment bales are supplied in 600mm x 400mm x 240mm heavy gauge polythene so they will last and the birds will not be able to rip the bales to shreds! Furthermore, as the bales are only 240mm high, the chicks can also jump on them at an early age.
Our products come in handy 60L bales for quick and easy transport, and are highly absorbent and easy to handle, so you can reduce labour time and risk of manual handling injury.
These enrichment bales are now becoming a standard requirement for the poultry industry, and Red Tractor recommends at least one bale for every 1000 birds.

As with all Hartpury Farm’s animal bedding products, our agricultural bedding is packaged in bales which are securely wrapped in polythene. Therefore, they are completely biosecure and any contamination from pests or rodents is avoided. Pallets each come loaded with 48 bales.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for a dust-extracted bedding option for your poultry or livestock, Cosychip Plus is the bale you need. Since there’s no dust, there’s no need to worry about eye and respiratory problems some birds can suffer with dusty alternatives, including straw and hay.
The bedding you choose for your farm animals will have a big impact on the health and overall wellbeing of your animals. Our Cosychip plus is free draining, meaning your animals are less exposed to ammonia which reduces the chance of hock burn. It also reduces podo and capping, and because it is a free draining product, this means liquid passes through and stays in one spot. Therefore, less bedding can be used, and you will spend less time mucking out!
